Most studios make you choose: either pure classical technique, or choreography with no foundation under it. Our main class is one hour with two halves — and each half exists for the other.
Precise classical technique: plié, tendu, port de bras. Slowly, out loud, with corrections given to you by name. This is the half that builds the line your body will keep.
A contemporary phrase, built over the weeks — so the technique has somewhere to go. This is the half you come back for, and the half our films are made of.
We are preparing three separate courses — from the true first step to pure technique, from the first plié to the révérence.
A short series for women who have never stood at a barre. The true first step — from zero, at your pace.
A full class built for a first year at the barre. Nothing assumed, everything explained.
For the ones coming back, or growing out of the first group. Faster tempo, longer combinations, centre work.
The gamification exists for two reasons: so you can see your progress written down, and so tracking it is a little more fun. Every mastered step lands on your card under your teacher's signature — and that is all it does. You dance for yourself, not for the board. In the student panel it goes by its full name — the Vaganova Ballet Map.
